Merry X-mas!

Merry X-mas everyone! The waves are flat in town today. Its super windy and no wind swell. Yesterday I surfed Chuns for a little while. It was about 2-4 ft maybe some bigger sets and wasn't too crowded. Afterwards, we headed to Brice's house and cruised over there for the night. We played Nitendo Wii all night! We played everything from Bowling, baseball, boxing, and Tennis. We must've played Tennis for like couple hours and I won every single match! Haha. Even in the other sports I won most of them but I let them win a couple (since it was X-mas Eve). Lol. Every single time they lost a tennis match, they would say "Now I know how to beat you!" but they never did. My arm was actually sore from playing too much. Here are some pictures of their bowling style and a pic of the 2 defeated soldiers. Haha.

Country

Headed up to the country yesterday with Arden and ended up surfing a little at leftovers and at Rocky pt. THe waves at leftovers were about 2 feet and the water was murky so we headed to Rockys left where it was 3 feet and perfect. A little crowded but they were mostly international people plus we were on our longboards so it wasnt too bad. Today Im at Gavins house watching their dog Rio. Its real easy to watch Rio since shes a toy poodle so shes not nearly as active as my dog Kelly. Shes just sleeps while I watch dvds. Lol. I watched the Dark Knight, Bee Movie, and Wall E so far...

Marathon

I ran the marathon yesterday with a time of 3 hours and 43 minutes. Only improved my time by 3 minutes from last year but Im still stoked with the result. I was actually afraid that I wasn't going beat my time from last year because I didn't really train at all this year. Ended up finishing 712th overall and was the 177th Hawaii finisher. The winner was a guy from Kenya who finshed with a time of 2 hours and 14 minutes and became $44,000 richer. Thats so crazy! They are basically running 5 minutes miles for the whole 26 mile race. For the a person from Japan named Shimahara won the race with a time of 2 hours and 32 minutes and earned $40,000 for the win.
Tried to go surfing yesterday after I ran but I couldnt really surf. The hardest part was standing up. haha. I have finals this week so looks like Im not going to be surfing this week. I actually just took my physics final today and it wasn't as hard as i thought so I think i did ok. Just 3 more finals to go.

New Bike

I just got my first rode bike this past week. The waves have been real small in town so the last couple days I've been riding my bike around D-head and been Standup paddling at Concession.

Oneill World Cup

Woke up early this morning to go watch the Roxy Pro and the Oneill World Cup of Surfing. THe waves were like 6 to 8 feet at Sunset and it was perfect for the contest. It was supposed to get a lot bigger but I think it never got as big as everyone expected. Maybe tommorrow? But everyone was still ripping today. Fellow Drift Surf Rider Marcus Hickman and Dusty Payne were probably the standouts today. They were killing it. Melanie Bartels was ripping in the womens Roxy pro. Checked out Pipe too but it was really happening.

D-head

Been surfing d-head the last couple dayz. Yesterday was small and windy but today was bigger and windier. Today was about 3 feet on the sets and no one was out because it was really windy. It was actually better than i thought. I heard the waves back in Shonan, Japan is good today. I was waiting for these kind of dayz when I was in Japan for 2 months but I got nothing. This year is just not my year. The picture above is from yesterdays d-head and todays Shonan.

North Shore

Today I went to the North Shore with Arden around Lunch time and first checked out all over Mokuleia side but it wasnt happening over there. After that we were driving toward left overs and the wind just picked up and turned offshore. The waves were like 4 feet and lining up good. I heard D-head was pretty good too. These are links to a Japanese lifestyle show I did couple months ago. http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=eLUEPpOokGs&feature=PlayList&p=F2A6ED9123F27840&index=89 , http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=WO1Y3FGp1zw&feature=PlayList&p=F2A6ED9123F27840&index=90 and http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=DIPaFHanP2c&feature=PlayList&p=F2A6ED9123F27840&index=91

Birthday Party

Yesterday I woke up early in the morning to surf D-head. It was about 2 feet and pretty clean. I surfed about 2 hours and then I went to school. After school I went to a Birthday party at Fook Yuen. It was the 10th birthday party for the son of a famous wrestler in Japan named Sasaki Kennsuke. And his sons name is Kennosuke. Also his mom was also a famous wrestler so you would think that their sons would be kind of aggressive. It was really funny because he was really shy especially infront of a camera. After the party I went home and studied for a midterm that I took today.

The Midterm today was really ridiculous because the teacher makes like a 2 hour long test when we only have 50 minutes. And to make it even worse the teacher came totally unprepared and there was like 5 minutes left and we only had like half the test. As a class we were really upset so we just decided that we should all not take the test and we all left the class. It was really funny because that was my first time that we actually overtook the teacher. Its going to be a interesting day on monday.

Obama is our New President!

Obama is our new president for atleast the next four years. Right now our economy is pretty bad so hopefully he can change some of that. Since it was election day today, I had no school so I surfed D-head 2 times and played tennis with my friends. In the morning it was like solid 2feet and a little sloppy cause of the high tide but it was still really fun. The afternoon it was more crowded but it was a little bigger. Supposed to get a little bump tommorrow so keep your fingers crossed.

Mokes

Surfed Mokes this past weekend and it was going off! It was like 3 feet and perfect conditions on sunday. Saturday the wind was on it but on sunday it was perfect. On sunday I got to try one of my new boards and it works awesome! Definitely one of the best days of the year. And the best part was that it was only me and Mika out. It was her first time surfing country so she was kind of scared but she did great. I heard it was raining all day in town but in the country it was just cloudy. Trades are coming back tommorrow so no more mokes for a while.

Miyazaki trip

This past week I went to Miyazaki for the last events of the JPSA tour. I had a lot of fun in Miyazaki but my contest results were pretty junk. I got 2nd in one contest but I lost early in the other. With 10 seconds left I had one last chance to make the heat but when I was setting up for my last manuever I digged a rail. I still made the manuever but I guess they were actually paying attention so they saw my rails dig. Haha. Now im back in school and I have plenty of work to catch up. I finally got my midterm grades for Math and CHem. I got an A in Chem and a 65 out of 100 on my math. But the average grade for the Math test was like a 55 so with the class curve I got a B on my midterm. Stoked! I have one more midterm left and I take it on friday so I can finally rest this weekend. Looks like country might be good this weekend. Not too big and the trades should be light...

Steinlager Shaka Series

I had the last event for the Steinlager Shaka Series at Straightouts today. The waves were kind of weak but it was perfect for nose riding. It was about 1.5 feet with semi clean conditions. I ended up making the finals and I got 2nd place. Kai Sallas ended up winning and Rusty was in 3rd, and Erza in 4th. This year hasn't been a great year for me so I was happy just to make it to the final.
After the final I watched the ASP contest in Miyazaki on the internet. It was really cool because Kekoa won the longboard and Shibatz got 2nd in the shortboard and even made the semi's for the longboard! All of this was going on while Nick Mita was commentating so it was super funny. Also I just wanted to say thanks to Fa9 and 88 tees for giving me bunch of new t-shirts today. Gav even gave me some sick UH t-shirts. Thanks Everybody!
Midterms coming up this week so Im really busy. Also Im leaving for Japan on wednesday to compete in the final 2 events for the JPSA. Hopefully I can keep the ball rolling... like UH! They won their game against LA Tech today and next week they are up against an undefeated team Boise State. Its going to be a really tough game but hopefully they won't get smashed.

20 years

Today was my parents 20 year anniversary! I can't believe they have been married for 20 years! Thats pretty long! We ended up going to Genki Sushi. HAHA. IT was my first time going to Genki Sushi since I came back from Japan. After eating really good sushi in Japan the Hawaii Genki Sushi didnt taste as good... I guess if you want to eat real sushi you have to go Japan! Other than that, I surfed D-head today and the waves were ok. It was solid 2 feet on the sets and not that crowded.
