Today I surfed Ehukai in the morning. It was 1-3 feet and all time. The sand bar was really nice and it wasn't super crowded. It was definetly crowded but not too bad. I rode my round pin shortboard from Brice and it works awesome! I've been shortboarding a lot lately since its my off season. The first event of the JPSA tour is on April 24th so it looks like im going to head up there around the 22nd. I am real lucky this year cause im not going to be missing any midterms, just couple quizzes. The first event is at Chiba so the water is going to be freezing. I hope its not ice cold like last year.

Mom's Birthday

Yesterday was my mom's birthday so we went to eat at the Cheese Cake Factory. It was my first time there so it was pretty cool. I can't believe how many people eat there everyday! Its crazy! We must've waited over an hour.

The waves were pretty small at D-head again. I surfed Concessions during the day but it was pretty flat! I rode my new board so it was pretty fun. In the evening I went D-head but it wasn't too good cause it was crowded.

Here's the picture of today's sunset. It was super nice. Im always in the water during sunset so I never got the chance to take a picture of it.

New Board

Here's a picture of one of Kelly's treat. I left it out on the table the other day and Kaito ate it! He was chewing on it and he was saying "how come this jerky has no taste?!" Lol. I feel bad for dogs cause they are always eating food with no taste.

Todays D-head was pretty small. 1-2 feet and pretty crowded.

Today I tried out my new board. This board is super different from what I usually ride because its bigger and heavier and has no edge. It felt really different but toward the end I was getting used to it. Its supposed to be for the super flat days in Japan. It's half a inch wider and a quarter inch thicker than my normal board.

The waves were pretty small today at D-head. 1 foot solid and very weak. I checked it out but it was pretty small so I went home and took a nap. When I woke up I checked my cell phone and it was 2:15 and I start work at 2! So I was like 45 minutes late for work. Looks like we might have a small south swell next week starting as early as thursday. The storm is a small one so keep your fingers crossed.

Today's D-head

Kind of small but longboarderable.

Had the Makahiki contest this past weekend. Didn't do too well but its my fault for not waiting for the sets. I ended up losing in the third round. I had a pretty tough heat with Duane, Lance, and Dino. The 3 main guys from the DVD Local Color. The waves were flat to 4 feet. There were some very long lulls so it was pretty tough out there. Congradulations to Duane for winning the event! He was definetly the best surfer out there. He even had a perfect 10 in my heat.

After the contest I went to surf the country with the goon squad. The waves were 4 feet and it was a little crossed up.
Today the waves are pretty small in town. Maybe 2 feet at D-head if you're lucky with light side onshore winds.

Surfed D-head today. It was like 1-3 feet and pretty fun. Tommorrow I have the Makahiki so I have to wake up at 5am. Looks like the waves are going to be good tommorrow for the contest.

Physics lab

Today I had my first physics lab for this semester. I was real curious who are TA was going to be and he ended up being a super cruise guy. We ended up waiting for like 5 minutes since he showed up late. Today I surfed D-head and it was pretty small and windy. Looks like tommorrow is going to be just as breezy so hopefully the wind swell picks up.

Drift Surf

Waves came up a little today in town. It was a little inconsistent but when it came in it was really fun. It was about 2 feet on the sets. Been working at Drift for the last couple weeks. Most of the times I work Mondays and wendesdays so stop by sometimes if you're near Ala Moana. Its located right across from Ala Moana Shopping center and its right next to pets discount and Fitted. 44th President

Obama officially became our new President. I listened to his speech today and he sounds like he knows what he's doing so we can all count on him. Lol.
Yesterday I went to surf Lani's. It was 4-6 feet and a little side onshore. It was kind of crowded but it was fun when you catch one. There was helicopter flying over us for like 30 minutes so I think something happened... Today its small again in town. 1 almost 2 feet at D-head with clean conditions.

Early Morning

Woke up early at 5 this morning to head over to the Makahiki contest. When I got there the waves were big and disorganized. They ended up canceling the contest for the day so I rushed back home to get to my first KCC class. When I got to KCC I didn't realize how many building there are overthere so I had a hard time finding my class. After class I checked out d-head but it was really sloppy so I went to go surf 2nd Holes. 2nd holes was like 2 feet and really fun.

Pyramid Rock

Went to surf Pyramid Rock today on the east side with everybody from Drift Surf. The waves were solid 4 feet and breaking real fast. Afterwards we all went to eat at a chinese restaurant. Thats a pic of me and Takara. We're both born on the year of the snake. Can you guess who's tummy that is? Haha
I also have no school tommorrow! I think all of the schools were canceled due to gusty kona winds. First time we had no school because of the winds. I guess there's a first time for everything. Also I have a Japanese blog too so check it out. I try not to write the same thing as this one.

Back to School

I went back to school this week and I already can't wait till summer break! Haha. I am taking 4 classes and 1 lab at UH and 1 class at KCC. My schedule is like Monday, Wednesday, Fridays, I start at 8:30, and I have my Physics 272 class and my Global environmental Change class back to back so I end at 10:30. On Tuesdays, Thursdays, I start at 9 and I have my Calculus 4 class and my Climatology class, ending at 12. But on thursday I also have my physics lab so I end at 3. The one class I am taking at KCC is called History of Surfing and its on Saturday from 9-12.
The waves today are once again pretty small. Tommorrow should have some west wrap hopefully but the kona winds are going to be gusty.

Monk Seal

Surfed at D-head during lunch time today and the waves were really junk. I surfed for like 30 minutes and I was over it. Its probably the junkest day of the year so far. THere was also a huge Monk Seal today at D-head. Can you see it? The west wind also picked up today and its going to get even stronger towards thursday. Thursday should have some west wrap with stong gusty west winds.

Full Moon

There was a full moon last night. I wanted to see it rise but there was too many clouds so you couldnt see it till it got higher up. The waves were really good this weekend. Surfed Mokes with Arden and Kimo on saturaday and it was really fun! The best day so far this year...

Small waves

Surfed Concessions today and it was pretty damn small. It was about 1 foot on the sets and really shallow. I watched couple Japan tv shows lately. I miss tv shows in Japan! They have some really cool shows. The picture above shows a huge bowl of rice that looks like a dinousaur egg with Katsu for only $20! There are so many cheap places to eat in Japan. You just have to know where.

Dry Reef

Surfed Concessions yesterday and it was super low tide! There was no water on the reef so you could run out. The waves were not bad. It was so low tide that it was breaking further out from the shelf so it wasnt super shallow. Today I went to surf mokes and it was really fun. In the evening it was super low tide too! I ended up falling on one wave and scraped my foot on the reef. Minor cuts, not too bad...

Spring Suit

Been surfing lately with a spring suit. The water is not that cold but its been really windy and chilly. Its really funny cause im out there sweating a little while everyone else is shivering and freezing their but off. lol.

Here's a short video of Mokes on New Years Eve.
Today I surfing at Concessions and D-head. Concessions was pretty good but it was crowded like always. D-head was even better with nobody out. It was really windy and cold but the swell was super east and lining up really good in the inside. At night I went to the driving range with Kaito but it was not that fun because Kaito kept on wasting all the balls. He dosent even know how to hit but he kept on hitting. Haha.

Small kine waves

Woke up early this morning to go to work but right before I was going to leave Kevin called me and told me I didn't need to work. I was pretty tired so I was stoked i got the day off. Since I was already up, I went to surf D-head. It was high tide so it wasnt that good but later in the evening I went to surf Concessions and it was pretty fun. Lately I've been riding a board made by a blank called Ice 9. Its partly made out of sugar so its supposed to be a little bit more eco-friendly.
My friend Yasu has been helping me make my site. Still working on it but here's a sample of it.

Happy New Year!

Surfed D-head today and the waves were solid 2 feet maybe some bigger sets and was clean. It was pretty crowded so it was dangerous. I actually got hit by 2 people within 10 seconds. Some how I bloked the board with my hand and my board and I were ok. What a way to start off the new year. Here's a pic of my brother doing stupid stuff with the Goon Squad.
